RE: 64 MB instead of 256 MB

hai luggies,
thanks ravi and zameer for ur valuable suggestion for my query. Now I am struck
with big problem of not able to boot my linux box.
The problem is I have not given any swap space while linux installation, now
while booting it says "general protection fault" and something like "swapper
blah blah blah......." "idle process killed ..............."
Is swap necessary?
I had bootable floppy but while booting with that it prompts "error 0x02".
I have final option as to go for the installation CDROM to upgrade process and
with that rewrite the MBR.
any other options,ideas.
thanks for ur help
with regards
