Re: CD player probs



Hi,

I remember rading/hearing (more likey the latter) somewhere that 
putting a Master/Slave combination of HDD/CD-ROM on the primary 
(same) IDE (??) will cause the databus to be shared. This COULD 
lead to a decrease in throughput (not noticeable easily).

As to why you see strobing (??) sometimes and not while at other
times, it could be due to the way the programs play the CD. Some
programs probably tend to buffer some of the data on HDD while 
others probably play it using the Hardware directly.

The above is just a guess.

Any other opinions ??
