The m/c in which CDROM is mounted should have an fstab entry 

dev/cdrom   /mnt/cdrom   iso9660 noauto,ro,user,unhide   0 0
(refer man fstab for more details)

then 
$exportfs

Take a look at /etc/messages in it. You will find that it is requested but
permission is denied.
