I notice you are using pine.
One thing you can do is to set the From: header to the mails you send
to the list to be the one from which you subscribed. There ought to
be a configuration option - mutt allows me to do so. For example, I am
subscribed from binand@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, but I send/receive mails from a
machine called jediland.bombay.retortsoft.com. So I set in my .muttrc
the line
set hostname=retortsoft.com
and my posts appear as though from binand@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx In pine, you
have to set the configuration option user-domain. Note that this works
only if your login ID is the same on both the machines.
If your local machine is using qmail as the MTA, then put the following
variables in your environment:
MAILHOST=domainfrom.to.send
MAILUSER=useridatdomain
QMAILINJECT=f
and the mails you send will appear as though from
useridatdomain@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If your login id's are the same at both the hosts, then the MUA
configuration is the best, though.
