Hi,

can you try this ...

as root make a new directory ( say /cdrom )

then put in a data cd in the cd-drive

then try these commands ->

mount -tiso9660 /dev/hda /cdrom
mount -tiso9660 /dev/hdb /cdrom
mount -tiso9660 /dev/hdc /cdrom
mount -tiso9660 /dev/hdd /cdrom

one of these commands should fix the problem

if you get some error messages then send 'em to me 
(error messages are usually logged /var/log/messages 
or somewhere like that)

PS: if it still ain't workin' send me what the comp
says during boot up ... ie send me the output of dmesg

$ dmesg > outfile

and then email me outfile
