hi all to follow up on prabhu's post, the how-to is very well written and explains how to do an orderly shut-down when the ups gives a battery low (or other appropriate) signal. with the new soft power boxes and the right motherboard/bios, it is possible to powerdown the box - and restart it when power comes back on using the wake-on-serial function. sriram ------------------------------
