I had posted a link or 2 about DCOM on linux. I don't have it right
now. Pls. check the archives. 
If you want to build distributed components, may be you can look at CORBA
(www.omg.org). There are many free ORBs available for Linux
(www.labs.redhat.com/orbit for ORBit, www.mico.org for MICO ...).
