Compliling QT Applications on Debian

Hi friends,
	I am currently running Debian Slink. While compiling QT and KDE apps I get a 
lot of errors in the ./configure. Has anyone successfully tried this before 
successfully? For example compiling K-Develop I am unable to compile it.
