	Did you do a make modules followed by make modules_install???
Methinks you just check whether you have a directory /lib/modules/2.2.14.
If you don't then you most likely haven't done
make modules
make modules_install
	So just cd to the top level dir where you unpacked the kernel
sources (normally /usr/src) and do the two "makes" above, and then just
try insmoding your ethernet drivers. It should fix the problems.
