[LI] Linux not loading file system

Hi All,

I am having trouble while loading Linux. There was a minor glitch in 
the power which resulted in a reboot. When Linux restarted, it 
stopped saying that there was a problem and asked me to supply 
the root password. Then it told me to run fsck manually. I entered 
fsck at the prompt and nothing special happened. I shutdown the 
Linux system and restarted. But it was of no use. Every time I was 
told that something was wrong and asked to run fsck manually.

What happened and how do I rectify it?
