Is there a chance that you misread the messages on the site? This is
what I found:


Binary distributions: 

     xplore-1.0a-linuxelf-static.tar.gz (binary distribution for Linux
2.x, statically linked against MetroLink Motif 2.0.1) 

     xplore-1.0a-linuxelf-dynamic.tar.gz (same as above, but
dynamically linked against MetroLink Motif 2.0.1; note that this
package
     requires that you have MetroLink Motif 2.0.1, at least the
runtime package)
