Re: [LI] Telnet as root

U r the first person that is able to get it right.
Now my question is that in RH 5.2 when u telnet u r on terminal type
emulation as ttypxx but in the new 6.1 they have added a new file system
called /dev/pts/xx that is wher u land when u telnet to 6.1
So now u cant telnet as root on an 6.1 since u get a terminal type
/dev/pts/0 or 2 or xx.
This 0, 1 , 2 .xx is generated immediately when u telnet rest of the time
they are not present
so even if u put it in the /etc/securetty u r not allowed to telnet as root.
can any one give more details about this new /dev/pts/xx
Also does any one know how to edit ur telnet so as to get connected to the
choice of "tty" u want
