Re: [LI] X11 does not start!

Hi there,
when you are in administator mode ( aka Single user mode ), first
do a
mount -o remount,rw /
and then edit /etc/inittab and then do the necessary change.

I recently installed Red Hat Linux 6.1 from the pc quest cdrom
I have by mistake configured X incorrectly and my system starts in run
level
5 (ie X windows mode directly). It directly goes into X mode which is not
visible on the screen and i have no idea what goes on.
I have to turn off the machine without being able to shut down
when i start again i have to run fsck and get my system to normal( in the
administrator's mode).
when i try to modify /etc/inittab to change initdefault to 3 it says the
buffer is in read mode.
