Re: [LI] RedHat 6.1 slower than NT??

And if you are short of memory disable (four out of six) virtual terminal in
etc/inittab, this improves the performance.
I have disabled all the virtual terminals on my 486 linux server as it does
not have a monitor and keyboard too.

|Friend,
|It depends a lot on what all services you are running on your Linux Box. A
|fresh Windoze box would always run faster then when it is loaded with
|softwarez life Visual Studio etc. which then help in slowing down the
|machine.
|
|On a linux box there are some typical services which get loaded if you do a
|default install and which slow down the system. U can cut down on these
|things and see the performance.
