[LI] Sound configuration.

Hello again,
thanx a lot archan and sathya, for the solution to the floppy drive problem.

Now its the sound which has to be configured.....
when i try and open my audio mixer in gnome, it displays the error message :
"no mixers found, make sure you have sound support compiled into the kernel"
even when i try toenable the system sounds in the settings, no sounds can be 
heard, same with the audio cd.

when i shut down linux, i get the following error message:
"saving mixer settings : modprobe - cant locate module sound-slot- 0"

Please help.
