Hello Nitin,
      I just managed to get my win98 logging to linux domain and I can even
see it and access it from network neighbourhood....I have also mapped the a
directory in win98...
Everything you have done so far is okay, but I think  you should try it with
guest account = <your user account>
>From share definitions you can share a directory,under [homes]
guest ok =yes
path = <location to be shared>
share modes = yes
browseable = yes...

everything else is just as I have done so it should work....
