[LI] modem configuration problem

Hi all

I have some problem with the configuring modem. Using GNOME, under
internet I used dialup configuration tools.  I was able to configure my
modem and even I was able to dial VSNL using debug. But when I try RH ppp
dialer, I see heavy activity of HDD but not dialing. I am using d-link
modem (external) . I can see the DTR  LED lighting up. What might have
gone wrong?
