[LI] Problems @ the time of reboot/booting the Linux machine

Hi folks,

I am having a problem - I have tried to detail the problem I have at the
time of booting the machine. Please give me advice as to what is heppening -
even if any one of you have come across this before and also suggest me a
way to work it out.

Here is the problem at the time of the boot:
hdc: read-intr:status=0x59 {drive ready seek complete datarequired error}
hdc: read-intr: error = 0x40 {uncorrectableerror}, LBAsect=49235, sector =
49172
end-required: i/o error, dec 16:01, sector 49172
ext2_fs error (device 16:01): ext2_read_inode:unable to read inode lock -
inode=6149, block=24586

Please let me know how to recover from this "gard disk crash" - if that is
what it is. I do have some important data on it.

Thanks for all your help, Satya
