[LI] eth0 initialistion delayed
Hello everybody,
Sorry this message is long . But please read it . Its an
interesting problem.
I have a RHL 5.2 (kernel 2.0.36-0.7) machine connected to our lan
by an intel etherexpress pro card. It was running fine . One day it showed
me while it was booting "Delaying eth0 initialisation".I thought it may
be due to some configuration changes i had made recently. I couldnt
troubleshoot and due to some urgency i backed up the data and
unfortunately also the old kernel & reinstalled the system.
The machine was working fine with the new installation but i
thought of putting back the old(saved) kernel that i had myself compiled.
When i booted with it,it again showed the same error "Delaying eth0
initialisation". Now when i am trying to boot with the kernel of the new
installation which was working fine uptil now it is showing the same
error.
How can the two be related ? If by chance one kernel is
misbehaving how can it cause any problems to the booting of the other?
TIA,
dipinder.
