Hi!!
this is a problem that i faced long ago. i think this happens only when u
telnet/ftp from root to some other account. try doing the dame from some
other account woth lesser permissions. do not ask me why this is so??

Hello All,

I have a standALONE linux pc w/o a n/w card, I wanted to
practice networking so how do i configure my box for this
ie. ftp,telnet,http..etc services.

I gave a dummy ip,name, domain etc, ran some daemons,
But when i do telnet/ftp to localhost it says network unreachable!

Can anyone please tell me where I missed? any pointers/how2s?
