as far as I have found, RHL 6.1 needs a HCL [hardware compatability list],
and you have to stick to it, but it neither sucks not grinds, in all
fourteen odd
machines where I had the opportunity to assist linux deployment, we are
using
RHL 6.1 from PCQ media.

the machine config follows

Pentium 233, 64MB RAM, 4.3 GB HDD
4MB PCI S3 VGA, 15" LG color Monitor,
Creative 32 bit PCI sound card & Speakers
GVC modem, PCI Ethernet Card D-Link.

and RHL 6.1 is a gem
