[LI] X not starting.

hi all,
RH6(PCQuest-Nov99).
when i started running startx it gave /etc/X11/X errno=2
Since errno=2 is file not found i copied X from X11R6 to X11 
and then.
while trying to run X-windows(startx,xinit) i am getting this error:
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect : errno = 111

waiting for X server to begin accepting connections.
p.s: There r no files in /tmp/*
