Even thou I would also suggest NFS for the linux m/c. But if one wants  a linux
m/c can be made to access the smb exported files either on a Windows m/c or on
a samba enabled Linux m/c.

try *** smbclient *** or if you want it mounted some where try *** smbmount ***
