Re: [LI] net accelerators

Hi

For a single user machine i dont know if there is much advantage in using
squid, unless you use several different logins. On a network it may really
inprove speed by caching.

To filter out net adds like banners try junkbuster ... i feel it has
improved my browsing speed by
30% at least!!!. Also try setting netscape -- advanced --cache to NEVER
check for newer pages.

there are rpms and source for junkbuster at where else www.junkbuster.com
:-)

Can anyone tell me what are ideal MTU and MRU settings for 33.6 and 56k
connections.
I've read that MTU of 1500 is best for anything upto ISDN.

PS you can use junkbuster and squid in tandem and its very easy to
configure!
and adjust the cookies setting to allow hotmail and yahoomail to work ..
they gave me a lil problem initially.
