Re: [LI] Errors while posting-

This is a simple precaution anyone running smtp servers should
take - close open relays, so that only authorised users can use your
smtp server. Or else every spammer in the area will form a queue
to send several megs of shit through your server - leaving you to
handle the bounces, flames, anti spam blacklists etc etc.

On 19 Nov 99, at 11:49, thus spake Shanker R Swaminathan:

Back to your query -

Do you have an account on flashmail?

If yes: Check your flashmail acct using pop3 and post using your
flashmail.com address only. That way mail.flashmail.com knows
you are an authorized user with an account at flashmail

If no: Stop using / trying to use the flashmail.com smtp server - you
are not an authorized user. All these attempts are logged and if
they get frequent - your isp will get a complaint from flashmail and
may terminate your access (said isp being vsnl, i seriously doubt
this - they are totally clueless and lazy)

hope this helps
