Whats this happening? Can i have a copy of your /etc/fstab please.
I'd like your relevant line for /dev/fd0 in /etc/fstab to look like

/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy ext2 noauto 0 0

see if this is what you have. Column 3 could have "msdos" instead of "ext2"
and column 4 could have "user" instead of "noauto". There might be many more
options for column 4, but make sure you dont have "defaults" there.

Just give your root password here and you'll be dropped to a shell
prompt. At the prompt give the command "fsck /dev/hda1", without quotes
ofcourse. The file system will be checked and fsck will ask for confirmation
before it does a few things here and there.... know what you are doing...
most of the time you'll be saying a [Y] to all questions. Reboot. Get back
to the list if didnt work.

Sundeep.
