hi people,
anybody out there experiencing random X crashes ?
I have a PIII -450Mhz with 128 MB RAM and a ATI-Rage II card with 4mb ram.
gdm seems to go off the rocker after leaving this machine idle for
extended periods of time.
any ideas ? suggestions ?

Hi,
Your problem is probably connected with the power management
feature of the machine. Just check the BIOS to see whether the hard disk is
set to switch off after some idle time...
I had the same problem and it was solved by changing the same...

I have RH 6 on my comp and when it is booted in LINUX X-windows it
seems to be loosing time on a daily basis. could anyone tell me the
reason.
also i want to change the screensaver lock GUI. how is that done ?

I solved the problem by:
1.Remove all printer entries in printool
2.Adding the line to /etc/conf.modules
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
3. Reboot
4. Run Printtool again
