Hi there,
Actually this query was about a development kernel basically 2.3.20 from which
there has been a change in the ppp. The kernel 2.3.20 needs ppp > 2.3.9
and also that the ppp in the kernel 2.3.20 creates a device /dev/ppp when pppd
is invoked for the first time with a major of 108 and minor of 0.
The char-major-108 corresponds to the new ppp that happens to be
ppp-generic
SO i put a line alias char-major-108 ppp-generic in my conf.modules.
Done.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
Regards
Khader
