I completely agree with Arun and Atul that "a whole bunch of stable, usable
apps" are required by the FreeUNIXes. That's why I have already worked in
that matter with my very small resource and limited time span. I have
developed a tool (in C++, QT, optimised for X under Linux) for simulating
the behaviour of Cellular Automata in Data Compression and Image Processing.
This is tool is currently adopted by the researches Indian Statistical
Institute,Calcutta. As far as I know, this may be the only efficient tool
available under X & Linux for studing the 2D Cellular Automata behaviour.
This not not a "Office-suite or Multimedia-suite" for Linux, but a small but
farm step for promoting Linux to Cellular Automata Community.

(Atul, I am tooo lazy to send the software I made to PCQ CD for
consideration to distribute at Indian section!! Ohhh, this is not a PCQ CD
forum@@#!!@@$#)
