Hi there,
there is pico but only that it is called jpico in debian. It comes along
with the debain package joe. The fact is that the only toughest part of
debian is the installation part which takes a lot of time ( cause it
configures everything according to your needs ;-)
After that you are on like breeze. ;-) I switched over from redhat to Debian
and like shanu said, Utopia has taken over me since then. ;-)

you could try XF86Setup. It works without any problem. And since you say
you have a laptop, then you must be having a neomagic card installed
which is detected by XF86Setup automagically.

you can try gpmconfig for that matter.

Expert comments awaited here.

regarding paritioning , you can do it this way.

1st parition - swap ( common to the two different linux distros ) so you don't
need two swap partitions fot two different distros.
2nd partition - Your windoze ( 95,98 or nt )
3rd partition - One Linux Distro
4th partition - Another Linux Distro here

The first and second partition must be primary partitions.
the 3rd and 4th can be either primary or extended depending oon the
way you want to mount your varioys linux partitions.

Hope this helps

I might suggest you RTFM. ;-)

Just one thing more, choose the distro which suits your needs and with which
you are comfortable with. DOn't go by words. ;-)
