I have downloaded Netscape 4.7 and installed using the
debian package netscape-base-4 and I don't have a single problem.
I haven't done any tweaking at all. Not even the ones you mentioned.
;^). What I did was just downloaded the proper netscape version (4.7) and put
it in /tmp and installed using dpkg -i netscape-base-4. It installed
automagically without any errors.
