[LI] White becomes Pink!

A very peculiar thing happens when I do this:

I am running Window Maker and also on the console (tty2) I am using
lynx. I switch to console and press Enter to follow a link. Switch
back to X and all that was white has become pink now! It does not
happen always but it's the second time it's happened today. Then I
tried with kde and the same thing.

Any explanations?
