Hi there,
I have installed RH6.0 on a compaq presario and the touchpad autmotically got
detected and it even uses gpm. I even connnected a seperate mouse to the PS/2
port and even that works fine. I guess I have can tell that I have never seen
linux install so easily and effortlessly on a laptop and even with APM.

I suppose while configuring your external mouse, under gpm choose it as a
PS/2 Mouse. Regarding touchpad, as far as I can remember I did nuthin to make it
get detected. It got detected automagically.
