Re: [LI] mgetty and vgetty
I have configured for answering m/c and it works. Also kvoice works and
it configures itself. But for remote login I have the problem. I have
configured as told in PCQ mar 99 article, but for dns in options. I have
given below salient points of various files.
In options
file, I have as
follows
- -detach
modem
lock
crtscts
asyncmap 0
netmask 255.255.255.0
proxyarp
// her i have omitted dns as in between independent m/cs there cannot be
any dns.
in options.ttyS1
lvghomepc.mvpvisakha:192.168.1.10 //linux pc
dgmpspc :192.168.1.15 // remote win95 pc
in pap-secrets
# Secrets for authentication using PAP
# client server secret IP
addresses

Inittab as told change has been made.
In win95 PC I have setup dial up connection, I have
used the login name
and password of linux user. When I dialed it got
connected and was
verifying user and name password. After this CD gets
dropped. I get
dialog 'computer you dialed disconnected the connection'.
in /var/log/mgetty.log.ttyS1 i got the following

but i don't have login file as stated in log msg. But I have ppplogin
file as recommnded in the article in /etc/ppp/ folder.
Can I get any guidance.
