Hi Dileep,

I too have GVC 33.6 modem and am able to connect to net without any problems.
In Fact for the last 4 months since when I installed Linux I am using kppp to
connect kmail for emailing and Netscape or k browser for browsing under Linux. 
I have configured kpp as per the instruction in March PCQ. No problems at all.

Bye bye to windows. Here are my modem settings in kppp.
Initialization string : AT&FX1L3S10=200
Dial String           : ATX3W1DT

Just change the above settings in kpp configuration under modem tab there is a
button modem commands.
