your problem is very minor. YOu will have to edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config 
file.Open the file and Search for You Display Section. On finding it Look 
for section like VGA , VGA16 , Accel .
In that u will find subsections for 8-bit display , 16 bit display etc . 
Look for modes in that this will contain entries like "640x480" " 8--X600" 
etc In all such entries delte the "640x480" entries . Then start ur X-server 
again . Voila Everything comes in one screen.
