[LI] ILUG-NGP's Presentation to IUS-NGP

Hello  Kind Folks,

Members of ILUG Nagpur presented a talk cum demo to Internet Users
Society of Nagpur on 14th Aug 1999

The talk was attended by about 45 people including the press, Tarique
blabbered about the intro to Linux. Covering points on evolution of
Linux, peer review of software and faster / stable development,
Extensive help and support available, runs on mortal hardware plus some
more.

He made it a point to avoid M$ bashing - saying Linux just IS!

Mukund gave a demo on how to use kde to access the various internet
facilities and the options available.

This he  followed up with a demo/explanation of
1. What happens when you dial your ISP number to get internet
connection?
2. What happens when you click an URL with your mouse?
3. What happens when you send a mail and how you can spoof it (just that
wee bit titillation into hacking :)

This was followed by a vociferous question answer session.

The whole thing lasted for about 2 hours

As many as 12 people have showed definite interest in having Linux
installed on  their PC. so next month we will follow up with a workshop
on installing Linux
