[Linux-India] strange response from ping

Hi,

I've installed RedHat Linux on Alpha Miata Workstation. My NIC is DEC PCI
DC21142 and it was autoprobed and eth0 was up while booting. But when I try
to ping the local host, I get the following error message. Some one please
tell me what this is about. This is the first time I'm seeing such an error
message.
