booting problem

Hi,

Somedays when i come and switch on my system, before entering the
lilo prompt it echoes  "system is halted, press del to enter
bios set up", and it keeps on emitting a continuous beep sound.
Once i reset, it starts working fine. Would any one tell me what's
happening.
