Do you mean to say, on win98 host(in the borwser) you make Linux as proxy
server and you are able to connect to the net, and from the linux server
you are not able to connect to the net ??? This is real strange .....
Why don't you set the proxy in the browser on the linux host as ur local
host. This should work.

Jsut need to put ur dns server name here in this file. If my mem ok, name
server for VSNL Bangalore, it is 202.54.12.17 and 202.54.1.30.

To confirm ur DNS is working, just query for a host at command line, say

bash$ host www.hotmail.com
