Re: Which Rdbms I use?

Hi Rupesh,

You can save OS cost by going for Linux. But you have to pay anyway for a
commercial RDBMS like
Sybase, Oracle, Interbase etc. There are free evaluation copies available
for download on the net of these databases. This are free from evaluation
for limited time. If you want a totally free RDBMS then you have options
like POSTGRESQL, MYSQL.

If you want to go for Sybase or Oracle and yuor budget is limited, then
check for the concurrent users. ie. max users connected to database at a
given time. It is possible in many cases that concurrent users are less than
total users so you can buy licences for no of concurrent users. You have to
confirm with the vendor.

As far as performace is concerned I am using Oracle on Linux & it is running
terribly faster than NT.
