kernel Compilation

Hello There,
I have compiled the kernel several times (since last 4 years). But I always get 
the same message after deploying the kernel. I am unable to understand the error
message and debug them. The dump is as follows
modprobe: unable to locate module net-pf-1
modprobe: unable to locate module net-pf-2
modprobe: unable to locate module net-pf-3
modprobe: unable to locate module net-pf-4
modprobe: unable to locate module net-pf-5

Any idea What this could be??
