email: sendmail - correct domain

I have setup sendmail and it works fine.  The outside addresses go via
vsnl relay.  But the local email address without the host like
user@xxxxxxxxxx doesn't get routed inside the same machine.  Instead, it
goes out via relay and then comes in.  I don't want to do this.  How do I
go about setting up sendmail for route my domain eventhough the users
don't specify the host?

I am running primary caching named from PCQ 5.2 CD.
