Dear Umesh,
It is possible to use fetchmail to retrieve you shell account mails,
but only if you are using a tcp/ip account then. When you use your plain
vanilla shell account directly ( using minicom or hyperterminal ), there
is no option but to view mail online.
At home, i usually use a tcp/ip account ( my friends' account ) and
retrieve mail from my pop server ( giasmda.vsnl.net.in ).
hope this clears it up.
