Configuring sound

HI,
most of the articles relating to configuring the sound card under
linux ask you note down the irq,dma ... from windows and use the
same. But for many of us who use only linux and also the others a
better alternative would be to use the OSS trial drivers which
comes with a configuration utility which finds out the
requisite values. These values can then be used to directly build
sound support into the kernel rather than loading the modules.

Oss trial drivers can be found at http://www.opensound.com
