Eeps, sorry, I forgot that some of you still use the old script mechanism
for connecting to VSNL (it is no longer required since VSNL now supports
PAP).

You need to connect in PAP mode, not script mode. Check Nikhil's article in
PCQ about this (http://www.pcquest.com/apr99/pap.asp)
