Hello,
There is one point I need to mention here which is specific about the
3c509 caards , when you configure the /etc/conf.modules then
in case you have a 3c509 then you must not mention the io address
this is very specific for 3c509 , only then it will work
I faced the same problem and after I removed the mention to io address
of the 3c509 it worked .

which gives the same details specific to 3c509.
