2 ethernet interfaces on one machine !!!

I have an installation of Caldera with 2.2 kernel .. and 2 ethernet cards
...both 3c509....as mentioned in the Mulitple ethernet how-to I have tried
the various options like, writing conf.modules with the 2 interface
detials... and also passing the kernel boot time parameters.

But I end up getting an infinite loop.


Any pointers anyone??
