	No. i have /usr in another hard disk [did'nt try swap in a different
one. but do not see any reason why it should not be able to]

	IDE hard disks can have maximum 4 partitions [primary]. to have more
than 4 choose one extended partition and divide it into as many logical
partitions as you want. to do this from linux [ i use fdisk ] do the
following
fdisk
fdisk> delete the logical partition [/dev/hda5] 
fdisk> add as many partitions u want

use 'm' to print the list of commands of fdisk
