hi,
	save your current XF86Config [in /etc/X11 ] and run the command
xf8config [in /usr/X11R6/bin]. it asks a lot more questions than the
Xconfigurator but is much more flexible. when you choose the resolutions
it will ask whether you want the virtual screen to be larger than the
physical screen or not. choose accordingly
